CELEBRATING WOMEN: SAKARA LIFE FOUNDERS
International Women’s Day on March 8th is a day to celebrate and recognize all women’s achievements, inspiration, and impact across the globe. This year, we asked women in leadership who’ve inspired us to share their stories in a weekly spotlight.
This month, Grown Alchemist partnered with SAKARA to help level up your commitment with an inside-out approach to caring for your complexion. The best-selling nutrition program from SAKARA LIFE called "Eat Pretty" is back with water-and nutrient-rich meals and this year includes our plant-based, biocompatible skincare for supported digestion and a clear, radiant complexion. To celebrate the launch and the accomplishment of SAKARA's two female founders as change-makers in wellness, we're celebrating them in a spotlight for International Women’s Day. March 8th is a day to celebrate and recognize all women’s achievements, inspiration, and impact across the globe.
We spoke with the founders of Sakara Life [@sakaralife] about International Women’s Day and what it means to be women in leadership. Read on to see what they had to say:
Firstly, please introduce yourselves.
“My name is Danielle DuBoise, I live in NYC, and am Founder + Co-CEO of Sakara Life, and Whitney Tingle, based in Miami, and am Founder + Co-CEO of Sakara Life.”
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
“It’s a reminder to celebrate and honor the women in our lives. Women often need a reminder to stop and celebrate! There is nothing more powerful than when women gather and lift one another up. Every day needs to be IWD :)”
In your experience, what makes a great leader?
“Someone with a strong sense of purpose, who makes it their mission to help others shine their brightest lights. A great leader is in service to their team and community.”
How do you combat gender bias in a leadership position such as yours?
“We opt for candor and honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.”
Words of wisdom to impart?
“Measure success by how many lives you get to positively impact. Find your mission—the thing that wakes you up out of bed and inspires you to be in service to others.”
