We’re thrilled to welcome Akin Akman, Co-Founder and CEO of AARMY, and now the new brand ambassador for Grown Alchemist, to our community. Akin doesn’t just live by discipline he has engineered it. Every choice, every habit, every quiet moment of reflection has been meticulously honed into a life of purpose. His philosophy resonates deeply with ours: confidence is forged through relentless practice, ritual, and self-care, and it is in these deliberate acts that greatness emerges.
From the age of five, Akin set out to chase excellence. By seven, he was living at a boarding tennis academy, driven by a singular ambition: to be the best in the world. “I wanted to be the best in the world,” he recalls. “Having that goal gave me purpose every single day.” That purpose became the engine behind every swing, every drop of sweat, and every early morning when the world was still asleep.
The Hidden Struggles That Shaped Him
Success, Akin learned, is rarely visible. Injuries tested him again and again, forcing him to confront frustration and doubt. Yet within these challenges, he discovered a rare gift: perspective. “It’s probably one of the best things that could have happened,” he reflects. “It pushed me to explore new paths cycling, spinning and reshaped my life beyond tennis.”
Learning lesson: There’s a silver lining in every setback, and often something far bigger waiting on the other side.
Redefining Winning
For Akin, winning isn’t a number on a scoreboard it’s a mindset. “When I was younger, I saw winning and losing as separate. Now I understand the gray space in between. Today’s work is what counts. Today’s focus is winning.”
Even in moments when progress is invisible, he keeps moving forward. “You have to have a long-term vision,” he says. “Growing up, my vision was being a champion. That vision drove every practice, every sacrifice, every moment when I had to push past exhaustion.
The Power of Quiet Moments
Some of Akin’s most transformative lessons were learned in silence. After a career-altering back injury cost him his scholarship, he discovered resilience in the stillness. Journaling, reflection, even drawing visions of the life he wanted before it existed became rituals that grounded him. These quiet practices are where clarity is born and where mental recalibration becomes possible where he prepares himself to rise again, stronger than before.
Confidence as Craft
Confidence, Akin believes, is not a gift, it's a craft. “Confidence comes from mastery. From relentless practice. From being willing to fail again and again, until failure itself becomes a stepping stone.”
Discipline is the cornerstone of this craft. Every habit, mental, physical, and emotional is a building block for self-assurance. From nourishing his body to caring for his skin with Grown Alchemist products, Akin sees self-care as a ripple effect: deliberate acts that create energy, focus, and clarity, feeding every part of life.
“Consistency is everything,” he says. “No one will do it for you. It’s earned. It’s painstaking. But with vision and persistence, you can achieve anything.”
The Essence of Confidence
At its core, confidence is knowing you are enough. That you are worthy. That your vision is not only possible, it’s inevitable if you put in the work. “Everyone has confidence innately,” Akin says. “First, you find self-love. Then, everything else can be built.”
As Akin joins Grown Alchemist, his journey becomes a living testament to what’s possible when discipline, ritual, and self-awareness intersect. True confidence, he shows us, is not performative; it is the quiet, unrelenting work done when no one is watching. It is the daily practice of showing up, resetting, and moving forward with intention.
Through his formula, discipline, ritual, self-care, Akin Akman has not just built a life, he has architected a legacy. And in that, we all find inspiration to craft our own.
